In pursuit of *awesome* wall décor, I have taped, nailed, glued and decoupaged my way through the two-dimensional world of hang-able things. I've tried posters, paintings, wrapping paper, even fabrics. In the end, these choices proved to be nothing more than flat things taped to a flat surface. Read: boring! So, when I read about the delightfully three-dimensional Serious Gnome wall plaques, my interest was immediately (and three-dimensionally) piqued. Don't let the name fool you, style-mavens. Serious Gnome creates hand-made, funky wall plaques, inspired by the vibrant fruit and floral plaques of the 1930's and 40's. With a vibrant color palate, offbeat designs (note the skull) and deluxe finishes, Serious Gnome plaques are not your run of the mill garden gnome, and they are certainly not your average wall-hanging. Each wall plaque goes for C$85 – that's Canadian dollars, friends. Don't you just love that conversion rate?
