One of things I anticipate most about fashion is the fall/winter hosiery trend. I love skirts in winter, so it's only natural that I would be a little preoccupied with tights. Looking back to 2003, I wore colorful opaque tights in shades like hot pink and lime green. Then, in 2004 I was back to basic black opaque. Last year, lace and patterned tights were huge. Having been spun around the wheel a couple of times, I expected this year would be all about black, again.

And I was right. All over the runways, you see basic black tights everywhere, and with everything. The best part of this development for the rest of us is that black opaque tights are incredibly wearable and almost universally flattering. This cannot be said about hot pink tights. And if you were smart (or lazy), you probably already have a pair or two on hand.
