Seven Days of Style: Making tracks in animal print shoes

steven by steve madden persuade ballet flatsWe already know that you can wear leopard print from head-to-toe (but maybe not all at once, overeager fashionista). However, what if you like the look of the leopard, but don't quite want to fully sport the spot? A good way to do it is to dress in your usual style, but show a little bit of your wild-child side in your shoes. We went on a little shopping safari and hunted down cute/sexy/pretty shoes that feature everything from leopard spots to zebra stripes:

Sunday - Meeting Mom and Dad -- in fact it's going to be the whole entire clan -- for Sunday brunch? You may not have a whole lot of time to put on your whole face, but it's fast and easy to slip into a pair of adorable ballet flats from Steven by Steve Madden in leopard suede. The "Persuade" flat is available at Nordstrom for $109.95.

sideout flip flopsMonday - You don't have to put your flip flops away just because summer is over. Because they're easy on, easy off, flip flops are perfect for running around from place to place as you do your long-weekend errands. Sideout makes some big, fluffy ones that come in red, black, but for this fall, go with either the tan or black animal print. At Shoebuy, they're $26.95.

laundry by shelli segal tiger print pony peep toesTuesday - For your first day back at the office, show the Board of Directors what a tigress you are with those reports in tiger-print pumps. Laundry by Shelli Segal has pony-hair tiger-print peep-toe pumps (wow, say that five times fast!). The buckle across the front with a metallic shine makes them even more perfect for this fall's trends. The shoes are available at shoes.com for $169.95.

kate spade ankle strap low heel pumpsWednesday - Low heels on Kate Spade's pumps are comfortable to wear all day, but are hot enough in an animal print and cute enough with a little ankle strap to wear straight to dinner and drinks. The "Gent" shoes are originally $295, but are 40% off at Bluefly, $177!

daniblack moc croc pumpsThursday - We immediately think of jungle cats when we hear "animal prints," but don't forget the reptiles! These black suede "Benny" pumps by Daniblack are so supercute with just a touch of crocodile print leather on the slightly rounded toe, accented with a tiny feminine bow. The shoes stand 4" high, but don't worry, the front has a bit of platform support. The shoes are $148.95 at zappos.com.

bcbg max azria snakeskin t strap sandalsFriday - Did someone say reptile? Snakeskin is definitely reptilian, though I am a little creeped out to wear real snakeskin, so leather stamped with snakeskin print will do. Thud. Sorry, that was the sound of my head hitting the desk after I just laid my eyes on these shimmery gold T-strap sandals from BCBG Max Azria. Let's move on to Saturday so I can recover.

roberto cavalli animal print lace up bootsSaturday - Sometimes you just can't decide. Hair pulled back in a sophiticated knot, or left down in lovely loose curls? Jeans or a cute dress? A hot roccker-style t-shirt, or a sexy halter top? And if you can't decide between leopard spots and zebra stripes, Roberto Cavalli lets you wear both on a pair of tan satin lace-up boots. Whatever you're doing, it better be a special occasion because these boots are $557, and that's with 30% off at Bluefly!
