Our friends over at Engadget have a post on Hussein Chalayan's Spring / Summer 2007 line of women's clothing. When I dug around on Google I found a link to a video of his catwalk show which I'll go ahead and tell you gets a little NSFW around the 1:40 mark. With our entire world going towards a 'dynamic' idea (my SUV can change from a stiff ride to a plush one on the fly; Cole Haan shoes now incorporate Nike Air technology; cell phones double as MP3 players), Chalayan's designs push this into the fashion world. The NSFW clip mentioned earlier shows a hat that is a dress that rolls up into the brim. One dress incorporates Swarovski crystals that appear seemingly from nowhere. All the designs are very avant-garde and I don't think anyone would wear them anywhere or at any time, but they are definitely interesting.[Story at style.com via Engadget]
