Runway shows are known for pageantry, but I have to say that I've never heard of anything quite like a designer levitating a fashion editor. I don't mean that figuratively -- like she was edified by his collection -- I mean it literally -- like rising up off of the ground! Jean-Paul Gaultier who is known for his clever irreverence performed the levitation stunt with Virginie Mouzat, a fashion correspondent for Le Figaro. In another trick (apparently, the show came with its own sideshow) Gaultier made Vogue creative director Grace Coddington disappear from a locked cage. When Coddington showed up on the stage again a few moments later, model Lily Cole had taken her place in the cage. Not sure what any of this has to do with his collection, but it sure sounds cool, doesn't it?
