Recently Jean Paul Gaultier put a plus-size model on the catwalk. In her runway show at LA Fashion Week, designer Daniella Clarke put her Frankie B. HER2 jeans on women of various sizes and ages who walked the runway during the finale of her show during Los Angeles fashion week. The women, who all made the jeans looks great, also wore pink T-shirts that said "No 2 Genes Are Alike." The jeans are designer Danielle Clarke's special HER2 jeans designed as part of a campaign to educate women about the HER2 gene, which is present in breast cancer cells causing them to multiply quickly.

The entire Frankie B. line is a love letter to rock and roll. No surprise since the designer is the wife of guitarist Gilby Clarke, who proudly joined his wife on stage at the end. The show featured denim in large supply with the models rocking everything from tiny shorts to long and lean jeans. And oh my, the high waist is back in full force. The high and tight designs reminded me of the days when putting on your jeans involved lying down, sucking in your breath and pulling on the zipper for all you were worth. The models prowled the runway to a classic glam rock soundtrack wearing animal prints, stripes and embellished denim that begged to be worn out on the town.

The HER2 jeans, which feature a pink design on the pocket, are bootcut (just say no to skinny jeans!) with a 34" inseam and sell for $165 on the Frankie B website. Expensive yes but now through November Frankie B is donating $107 from each pair to the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.
