For the
Chan Luu show at LA Fashion Week things were a bit different than at other shows which rely on the hierarchy of seating. Instead we were simply herded into a room, the models pranced out and then they stood, gorgeous living sculpture, while everyone clustered around taking pictures and notes. Chan Luu's spring line reiterated my firm belief that judging by this week's shows, there will not be a whole lot of color around next spring. The designs are meant to evoke a Parisian sophistication and there was definitely a cool elegance to the designs. Luxe fabrics like taffeta, silk dupioni and chiffon imparted a subtle sheen and sense of expense to the dresses and coats which were designed to hang off the slim shoulders of the models and skim the body. Feminine without being overly young, these just might be the ultimate spring outfits for ladies who lunch.
