Following the success that was the film Bend it Like Beckham, soccer star David Beckham went from being a European celebrity to an international phenomenon. His fame was for good reason, too. He was talented; he was cute; he was married to a Spice Girl. For a while, it seemed that the popularity and the marketability of the beautiful British couple was endless. But maybe that assessment was pre-mature.
Police sunglasses, which has used David in its campaigns for the past six years decided not to resign his contract. Instead, Police will now use Antonio Banderas in exchange for an estimated £1 million a year. Rumor has it that Gillette is questioning the marketing value of David Beckham. Could this mark the end of the Beckham era? After hearing about the
nonsense Victoria pulled at the Yves Saint Laurent show, I'd say good riddance! I'm sick of the Beckhams!
