Drugstore Beauty Queen: Vaseline

If you're interested in getting more bang for your buck from your next trip to the drugstore, you might consider picking up a tub of Vaseline. By far, Vaseline is the cheapest cosmetic item in the world, but many people do not realize that petroleum jelly has a slew of beauty uses. Trust me on this one, it's not just for your lips! Here are a few of the ways that I use the old blue topped stand-by:

Eye makeup remover: As someone who only occasionally wears eye makeup, it really doesn't make sense for me to have a separate eye makeup remover on hand for the off chance that I might need it. Instead, I smear a generous goop of Vaseline on my eyelids and wipe it off with a cotton makeup pad. Voila! no more makeup.

Eyebrow tamer: Beauty editors want you to think that you need to purchase a separate brow gel to keep your arches in place during the day. But what I've found is that applying a little bit of Vaseline to a clean mascara brush is a great way to instantly tame your brows.

Mascara: As I've already mentioned, mascara is not my favorite thing to put on everyday. But since my eyelashes are blond, I do find that coating my top lashes gives them a little bit more definition than they would have on their own.

Lip gloss base: Do you have a lipstick that you love but which it was in a lighter formulation? Well, one easy way to double your color options is to take a slice of lipstick and mix it in a pill tin to make your own custom lip gloss.

Vaseoline absolutely, hands down, is the best cure all for skin. Great for curing dry skin the winter and summer. Smear a large amount on your feet (you can also do this with your hands if they're really dry) & put a pair of socks on. In the morning your feet are sooo soft. Everybody keeps saying about using it as a makeup remover, which it's great for, but you can also use as a night cream for your eyes to prevent crows feet. My mother and grandmother have used it for years as an eye cream. I swear by it!!!!!

I have always read that it is not a good idea to use protroleum jelly on anything. Who knows what all that protroleum will do to you in the long run. I have read this many times. I used to use it, but no more. Think about it

Great tips! I would like to add one more for Vaseline. It makes a great eye moisturizer. I like to use it in winter time when the air is dry . I apply a little under my eyes and tiny bit on upper lid to prevent dryness in those areas.

Can someone please confirm....Does Vaseline make your natural eyelashes grow? Please answer honestly...I have heard/read so many different opinions regarding growing your OWN eyelashes and Vaseline comes up quite often.

I love false eyelashes BUT I honestly feel when you remove them (strip/individuals) your lose some of your natural lashes. No matter what removal method you use, some of your own lashes will be removed as well.

Thank you for your input!
