Fashion's dubious new black?
As far as I know, David Bowie is the only celebrity who has ever tried to use the Third Reich as a fashion inspiration. Needless to say, when Bowie did it, it was a disaster. The Hitler-as-muse idea has cropped up again, this time in the fashion industry. Designers Rocky Mazzilli and his mother Louise's latest collection -- Year 0 -- is emblazoned with huge swastikas and other fascist iconography. After being thrown out of a London nightclub for wearing one of his own designs, Mazzilli defended his decision to feature the Nazi symbolism in his clothes, saying "My interpretation of the swastika is of anarchy, rebellion and nonconformism. Isn't that what London's clubs believe in, too?"
Uh, no.

That symbol should be forever retired. It originated as a native american design many many years ago and the tribe has had the wisdom to agree that it should no longer be used.
Everyone else should have equal regard for the victims of the regime that made this symbol infamous.
