Dress of the Day: Diane von Furstenberg Tuxedo Dress
I am head over heels for this dress, and not just because it comes from Diane von Furstenberg, and not just because I am having a momentary obsession with tuxedoes. This dress takes the classic stylings of men's formal wear and makes it 100% sexy, without making it the least bit revealing. How does DvF do that?!?!The Maylea dress is, of course, a wrap-style, with a tuxedo shirt placket with a four-button closure. The tuxedo shirt is also shown on the sleeves with French cuffs. What would normally be the satin stripe on a man's suit trouser is re-interepreted as a tie at the waist. Patent leather shoes are the natural choice, and my personal pick would be a fierce pointy toe pump.
