The "peacekeeper" handbag means business

When I saw this handbag from James Piatt I thought to myself, "Wow! cute purse! Wait... are those brass knuckles?" And the answer is yes, those are brass knuckles. And on this handbag, they are conveniently doubling as a handle. But don't worry, they easily detach should you need them for self defense.

I'm not sure that brass knuckles would really help me out that much if I was being attacked, since I've never used them before. But I guess if I owned this purse I could practice with the brass knuckles at home on a pillow or something? Unfortunately, a thief would probably grab my purse first, and in that case I'd be giving him a free pair of brass knuckles. And I should also point out that these brass knuckles are actually made out of polyurethane.

Like tough purses?

Check out Isabella Fiore's tattoo bag and this bag, with its striking similarities to Chucky.

Aren't brass knuckles considered a weapon? One may be able to argue the point that the polyurethane material that they are made of may make a difference, but I wouldn't want to test that with an officer. While it may be a cool idea, I think something like this could create more problems for a law abider. If you want to carry a weapon, then go ahead, but at least do it the correct way. Check with state laws.
Thank you.

NEVER use these knuckles, and dont consider them a safety item for yourself. 99% of men can EASILY disarm 99% of women with "brass" knuckles, then God help you as he uses them on you !! Just run the other way as you toss your purse or don't resist. Keep your big bills and ID on your pocket, losing your small bills and credit cards are no big deal.

Don't we have enough problems with rape and murder without handing them another weapon to use on us?I think we had better leave well
enough alone. Thank you.

Absolutely ridiculous!! With how most of us women pack our purses they are already a weapon. Okay, seriously... the designer of this purse is giving weak women a false sense of security. You want to know how to defend yourself, ladies? Go enroll in American Kenpo Karate. There are schools all around the U.S. and some overseas as well. It's better to know what you're doing than to hope you do "something" when it really counts!

it's a cute purse. Personally, i wouldn't use the brass knuckles for self defense though. If you can't fight, they won't do you much good, will they? But they do add something to the purse. I'd buy it. :]

This is asking for trouble. The object in a mugging is to "let go" and let "them have it. " To stay and fight...ie; "wait let me put my brass nuckles on". If you are stupid enough to or trained to fight back, then you don't need brass nuckles...only the directions to the emergency room.
The bage is ugly, a person wearing it will be a 14 year old looking for a fight or a gang member.
Be smart, watch where you are, be aware of your surroundings...don't carry anything that you can't replace or you do not need to have on you.
If you do get attacked, remain calm and let them have it.

Forget the purse - carry a clip on ballpoint pen (clip it in your shirt), to use, pull it off, wrap your fingers around it, put your thumb on top and plunge it as hard as you can in to most any part of your assailant... nice thing about this one is that it's not illegal to carry a pen.

Ladies the thought of this purse as a potential weapon is the stupidest thing I've seen in a long time. The greatest weapon you have is right between your ears. Use it and don't waste your money on an idea that someone thought up just to sucker you into buying it in the first place!

I personally think this is a foolish idea. Let me tell you why. Yes, it may keep muggers away, but it also will scare potential dates away as well. A man might see that and say "Well, I dont want anything to do with her" So your thinking. "Well, if he is a good guy, it wont matter if I carry this around, because he would never do anything to make me need to use it" But you see, this doesn't totally hold true. Yes, he may never do anything to you that warrants you using it on him. But people get angry. What if he just upsets you, and you are really upset, and you hurt him with it. Or if it is during that time of the month, and you can't control yourself. (Some women get like that) I know some women who are crazy, who, if I saw them carrying a bag like this, it would be a complete turn off, even to a nice guy. I am a nice guy, and even though I would never do anything to hurt a woman, I find this bag to be a major turn off. Mainly for the reasons I stated above. Sometimes people fly off the handle, overreact, and do things that they regret. And having this bag, she could hurt the person that she loves, and not even mean to. Just because that person happens to be around. Very poor idea for a handbag if you ask me.

I love it. I already own a purse with the handcuff strap, and also my favorite band's logo on it. (http://www.ebtm.com/invt/lb1039991mis) So this is one for my collection. And besides, what smart, level-headed woman would actually take the time to use the knuckles for protection? That's what the pepper spray IN the purse is for.

If you want to feel safe and it is legal in your state get a concealed-carry weapons permit (CCW). To use brass knuckles you have to allow the person to get right up next to you, not so much for a gun.

This is an UGLY purse. If it had a regular handle maybe. But anyway there is no way those brass knuckles could help unless you had them off before you were attacked. Because attackers go for the purse. Great another weapon for the criminal. Girls don't fall for this waste of money. Get Karate or self defense class. Get a pen or a compass (kind used in Math classes). Some of those math compasses are so sharp you barely touch the tip and you bleed.

You people are funny! If a woman really thinks she can defend herself with this purse she's retarded! Do you really honestly think they made it with the intentions of protection or is that just their marketing strategy to get you to look! Funny people think silly thoughts though!
