It's not too late to buy leg warmers!

If we told you that leg warmers were classic accessories, you'd be able to wear for years, we'd be lying. No doubt, leg warmers are trendy. Chances are that by next fall they'll be showing up on all the fashion "don't" lists. But right now, they are still very much a "do" so take advantage of your chance to wear something so fun and comfortable while you can!

The pair pictured, from Alice + Olivia for $117, is wool/cashmere blend so they'll add some serious warmth besides looking adorable. If you're not willing to pay quite so much for something so trendy, check out the very affordable leg warmer options at Sock Dreams, Urban Outfitters and American Apparel.

What is adorable about those leg warmers? (Especially with high heels) I liked the leg warmers that were fashionable way back--the70's or 80's maybe? They covered the whole leg from ankle to top of thigh and were worn outside of your jeans. And guess what? They actually kept your legs warm.

It's funny how everything 80's was so critizised and thought to be ridiculous and IT"S BACK!! Gradually from the songs in current movies to clothes and hair. Either we (teenagers / younfg adults) of the 80's weren't so way off or our generation is heading the fashion, cimema and musical empires. But wait! you can't sell unless you have a market and that market is not in their 40's?? Think about it LOL

LOL! Get out your shoulder pads and big belts! We're going to watch the younger gals parade by in clothes that resemble things we wore in high school! Even funnier for those of us whose LITTLE SISTERS wore them!
We can have a chuckle knowing that someday they'll be shaking their heads at fashion's take on their old clothing, too. Hey those leg warmers and color block sweaters are just 'STAYIN ALIVE'!

The problem with these styles coming back (besides the fact that most of the styles are hideous)... is that all the fat girls latch on to them. From leggings, to "skinny" pants, and leg warmers. These fat girls wear them and it looks horrid. The leggings make their legs look even more like sausages, the skinny pants look like they may explode at any moment, and the leg warmers add unnecessary bulk & just draw more attention to their cankles.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - Run, run while you can. Next it'll be the big hair, the scrunchy boots, the hideous double belts, the neon colors and last, but not least, THE BIG BIG HAIR.

Saw a lady just today wearing leg warmers, and she looked fantastic. But yes, she was slim and stylish overall. I agree that trends start with the physically advantaged and trickle down to the not-so (or the "fat girls," as it has been so delicately put). What girls need to learn is not what's the latest trend, but what styles look best for their own body types, coloring, and the like.

My mother told me when i was about 6, fashions always repeat theirselves. I thought NOO, but yep, she was wearing platform shoes back in the 50s, and it came back when I was in my teens.

As for the leg warmers, well im a long and tall and lean lady, and love them, i think they make shoes look like boots, and they do keep your legs warm. Back in the 80's , i took a fringe leather coat, cut the sleeves off, (which also had a shorter fringe) and made leg warmers out of them. Alot of ppl had to tell me it was ingenous, and looked store bought. (though when i wear em, it was usually over boots.

I'm 17 and in high school now and I still think the 80's fashion looks ridiculous. The only girls that look good in it are the ones who generally look good in anything. No skinny jeans for me, I'm still a fan of flair jeans (which by the way, are not so easy to shop for anymore).

Who ever said that leggings are only for the very slim? I think "HEAVY" girls have it hard enough, and everything has been limited to death for them! They would like to ware the same styles as the rest of us and should!
The biggest problem is...the heartless people that find the need to go around calling them FAT, like they don't have feelings! This would be a much kinder world if there were not so many judgemental people in it.....Everyone needs to feel good about them selfs!!

Funny thing is, I never knew that leg warmers was out of style. duh! LOL

I had kept most of my popular clothes from back in the late 80's and early 90's because I knew that they will be back in style or whatever; however, my sister came into my closet and took it upon herself to throw away a good bit of my clothes. She said that they were out of style. I had mention to her in my world they are still in style! I mean after all the things that our parents wore are in style now! Fashion revolves itself. What once was, is still now! You just have to re-event the clothing that U have from the past to work with the now!
That what makes fashion so cool! U suppose to have fun with it!

Now that my sister had throwed away a lot of my clothes from the past I will have to buy some more (hated)! I mean I had things like what I called the "Prince shirt" you know the one with the ruffles down the middle and ruffles on the end of the sleeves. Now it is big fashion! The funny thing is I never knew that was out of fashion either! LOL

Fashion! It is all about having fun with it and creating a new u and a new trend! Loving it!

You may have feelings hun, but do you have eyes? I mean, I call my Mom fluffy, and she says, "thats cute Robin, but im just plain fat". Fact is fact, if u like something, wear it, shouldnt matter to you what other ppl think. For yrs i was call anerixic, ppl rode me hard about why i was so skinny. (ate continuously) But the fact was , i was skinny!! I finally wiegh 120, and am 5'8 though i still have to always be trying to gain wieght.

Bible says theres power in the tounge, and ive always said i cant gain weight, catch colds or the flu, and i dont!!

Makes me glad im a noncomformist, and dont follow the masses. I've always thought fashion is too vast, should be more creative and individual anyways - and yes FUN!!!

It's not bad enough that the style of low ride pants are also made in fat sizes. Now, they are bringing back leg warmers. It's bad enough to watch these over-weight teens walking around with a fat roll hanging over their jeans. Now, we have to endure watching fat chicks with fat rolls hanging over their skin tight leg warmers.

I think it is funny how all of the clothes, music, movies and icons of the '80's are back!!!! My daughter who is now 12 and is fixing to turn 13 loves it!!!! She now gets to see what it was like when I was in high school and wearing those clothes and watching the same movies and icons. How funny!!!! My husband grew up in the 70's and is 10 years older than me. However, my daughter says that the 80's music is her favorite, along with the silly videos with the BIG hair!!!! LOL!!!! :)

Although I wore those styles in high school, I would NOT wear them now. I was thin in high school, while now, I have put on some weight and wouldn't be caught dead in those clothes now!!!! LOL!!!! :)

My favorite thing is playing the 80's games that they have out there, including the 80's Trival Pursuit. All of this 80's stuff brings back great and fond memories of my high school days!!!! :)

Well, my granny and my mother used to laugh when an old style became a "new style" again. Now that I see stles starting to repeat themselves it makes me feel OLD!!!!!!!!!! I think the leg warmers were (are) cute, though, on gals with long, thin legs.
