StyleFoul: Selma Blair fails to learn from Rosie's mistakes

Selma Blair has a face that I would kill for. The curves and angles are perfect, her eyes are intense, and all of those features are framed by beautiful, dark hair... usually.

Blair's latest haircut is reminiscent of 80s styling, or, more recently, Rosie O'Donnell's wacky Boy George tribute-coiffure. It's a bit scary, to be honest. I can't imagine why anybody would do something so vicious to their hair, especially someone as beautiful as Blair. But then again, there have got to be people who like this hair because, otherwise, people wouldn't keep cutting it that way. Any of you out there? Care to explain the appeal?

Check out more pictures of Blair's newest cut here.

Play In her Hitchockian new movie, Selma Blair plays Abigail Clayton -- an agoraphobic NY-er who is forced to face her demons when new neighbors shatter her sterilized world. But the threat of domestic disturbances aren't the only reason you're going to want to seek out Columbus Circle -- superb supporting performances from a never-more-terrifying Jason Lee and Amy Smart also make this DVD a must-watch.

Oh my God, what was she thinking? She looks like a dike with that ugly haircut!

C'mon everyone--get a grip! If someone like her with her beauty, fame and fortune can't make a statement with a daring haircut, who can? Good for her! Its only hair and I promise, it WILL grow back. Have a fit over something improtant--like the war our country is in the middle of with no end in sight!

Or how about at least, if you're going to make a homophobic slur, you spell the word right. It's dyke. Sheezus.

Seriously, how does an article about hair turn into a rant about sexuality and the war?! I really don't see the connection. America has a serious problem with concentration.

From a guy's point of view, that is just plain ugly! Mullet's are never attractive on anyone, much less a woman. Maybe she did it for a movie role, pulling a Charlize Theron in order to get an Oscar?

what's so bad about it??? I think it looks good on her, she is young enough to carry off the look, so Selma, YOU GO GIRL!!!!

It reminds me of the "back in the day" era of the Vidal Sassoon haircuts...I remember an even bigger furor over the "crewcut"-like 'do Mia Farrow sported in the movie "Rosemary's Baby"

Call me crazy, but I think she looks cute; maybe if she were 20 years older, and overweight, she would NOT look so cute but...I have to applaud her individuality.

I'm with the headline about her in general she is stunning! She was beautiful in "The Fog" as far as the haircut i don't like it! Some peepz look good w/a certain style haircut this is one she doesn't need to do again! I don't know what convinced her to do that. . . maybe a different look for a new movie, new look, a bet, who knows. Ya it will grow back but she looks very hot and better w/long hair.

I actually think it is cute on her, and what is being gay or lesbian got to do with it? I am a older adult, who does not have hang ups with those things. But the hair cut would be cute on a lot of people, although it would look bad on some .... But gee leave sex out of it or gays and lesbians, has nothing to do with it. Wished it would look good on me, I would cut my hair that short or shave my head even! Get a life people....

Finally a georgeous woman it Hollywood with a not so Boring Haircut, Im tired of The Farrah Hair being done over and over and over again, aka "Jessica Simpson", BORING-OVER-PLAYED OUT. Selma is Perfect to carry this cut off, She has an EDGE, more Avant Garde appeal. Now if Pam Anderson were to do it, It might look a bit crazy. But Selma Rocks it Hardcore!!! Oh and for those of you who don't think Dyke's can be HOT! take a look at Gina Gershon's portrayal of a Hot Dyke in the movie "BOUND" I DIG IT......

I don't think it's that bad of a style...I see it on a bunch of people around my college campus...I just think that the back of her's in a bit choppy, like the stylist was in a hurry or something. I do like the swooshy thing in front though.

*I also think it's cute that people have to be careful how they cut their hair if they don't want to offend someone who is so sensative to homosexuality and the war issues :-P *

Selma is an amazing talent, and absolutely stunning — long-haired, short-haired or bald. Sigh ....
