Ordering flowers online can be risky. Once you place your order, you're basically out of the equation, which means that the meaningful bouquet meant to woo a special someone is left to the whim of a nameless, faceless florist. FTD.com has come up with a strategy to take some of the guess work out of flowers by enlisting a few famous designers to create signature bouquets. Todd Oldham and Vera Wang both have Valentine's bouquets this year. While I like the roses in Todd's design, I think vase is really tacky. Vera's arrangement is better (no ugly vase), but her roses are a little too fussy for my taste. But still, both options seem preferable to the completely unknown, which might involve carnations. (yikes!)
