Drugstore Beauty Queen: Cover Girl Clean Makeup
Oh my.Ladies, we might have a winner today, and we're only halfway through the week of our drugstore brand foundations!
The funniest thing is, the one that I really like is from Cover Girl, a drugstore brand that I haven't looked at, let alone used, since my cheerleading days back in high school. That was -- admittedly -- a very very very long time ago. I have since gone more upscale to unneccessarily expensive department store brands and even to more expensive , "mature" drugstore brands like L'oreal and Revlon.
Cover Girl Clean Makeup is marketed to teen girls. I mean it has the word "girl" in the name, and with the addition of "clean,: I believe it's meant to imply that it'll work right along with your Stridex and Oxi pads to keep acne under control. Forget about all of that because it doesn't really matter. The liquid foundation is quite simply, fabulous.
Color: If you are lucky enough to find the right color, you are so totally set, and I doubt you'll have trouble finding the right one because there are something like three dozen shades. I am lucky because I have just about the fairest (read: "paste-y") skin known to woman so I don't even have to try to find the right color; I just get whatever is the lightest. It matched me perfectly.
Coverage: It's a liquid, so I was worried that it would be a little too light. I didn't have to worry. It's thin enough that it comes out of the bottle, but thick enough that when you get halfway through the bottle, you do have to do the "taptaptap" to get it out. It goes on smoothly and blends without leavig streaks.
The only complaint I have is that the makeup has a fairly strong fragrance. It smells a little bit like cinnamon, and made me self-conscious about smelling like a gingerbread woman. I am sure that it's exagerrated since it's on my face and anyone standing near me wouldn't have smelled it.
It's available from drugstores for about $5. Cheapest of the lot!

I just recently purchased this same foundation and was totally sceptical since I too, hadn't even thought of using Cover Girl in many, many, many years! I love this product. I prefer to use my fingers to apply and this one goes one smooth and my color matched great! I think the smell is closer to Noxima. But I love this foundation. I bought the powder too and it works great with the foundation.
