Prune juice for better skin?

3/14/2007 3:21PM by Anne Metz

Poor prunes.

As plums we love them. But once the juicy flesh of the plum crosses over to the wrinkled, chewiness of the prune, we're slightly less convinced of its virtues. Sure, there's the benefit of regularity, but that's mostly for old people and health food junkies.

Just so you know, there is a good reason to drink your prune juice every morning. Pure squeezed prune juice has nearly three times the amount of antioxidants as pomegranate juice. So if you are trying to get the most free-radical fighting bang for your buck, forget the Pom and grab the prune. Your skin will thank you, and if your colon does too, well, then that's just gravy.
