Earth Day is coming up but Aveda is celebrating Earth Month. They are focusing on supporting clean water projects and raising money for the campaign for clear water rights. Aveda has chosen Global Greengrants Fund as their Earth Month partner. According to an article in Fashion Week Daily, Global Greengrants is channeling around $140,000 of this year's Earth Month proceeds towards water projects that support Aveda's indigenous and agricultural partners.

There are several ways to help out. You can send a text message containing the words "clean water" to #30644 to help let the United Nations know that you are concerned about clean water. Aveda is also selling the 2007 version of their limited edition Light the Way candle with the entire proceeds going to Global Greengrants. The candle is made of soy wax and is scented with organic Bulgarian lavender oil which comes from the Enio Bonchev distillery. The candle sells for just $10.
