Kate Moss, artists' muse
Even without makeup Kate Moss causes a stir, of course it also helps that she is without clothing. Fashion Week Daily reports that photographs of a nude Moss will be auctioned on May 31 during the Christie's photography auction in London. The Kate goods include a 1996 print by Irving Penn, a 6 x 6-foot image by Albert Watson and a set of six prints of Moss without makeup, taken by Chuck Close. Bidders better bring lots of cash, Kate is estimated to sell for prices ranging from around $12,000 for a photo taken by one of her friends to $44,000 for the Penn pic. These Kates are comparative bargains. A set of six pictures of Kate Moss, done by artist Banksy in the style of Andy Warhol, sold for about $94,000 last year and the nude Lucien Freud painting of Miss Moss sold for $7.3 million back in 2005.
