Sarah Jessica Parker thinks bloggers who make fun of her fashion line are stupid

Sarah Jessica Parker thinks all the criticism on blogs of her underwhelming new clothing line is "foolish."

The blogworld's response to the star's line at Steve and Barry's has been decidedly tepid. But during a recent interview with the Minneapolis Star and Tribune, SJP basically called the criticism invalid, saying her clothes are for the everyday woman, and were never intended to impress the fashion industry.

"These clothes are about people all over the country who don't have access to really well made, affordable clothing. It's wonderful that people in the fashion industry can borrow things, and have the money and the financial means, never mind the logistical access to clothes that are very fashionable and of the moment. What's really important is that women in this country, really, really feel good about who they are and that we make things affordable and accessible. So there's no criticism that a person can make about it. It's really important that women in this country have an opportunity to have the things that all of us who do have the financial means can have."

There's more here. I only re-posted the intelligible parts.

What's interesting, is that the women SJP is reaching out to (as if they were some charity case) aren't buying the clothes, and the collection was launched with an exclusive party for the fashion industry.

Sounds like sour grapes to me.

What do you say to those people who really are to selfish to care about others? She is a "star" we all know that. She is trying to help those persons who can not afford the $200 "blue jean"!! Isn't jean all the same fabric?? So why is it that Beyonce or J Lo or any others who have a clothing line, accessories, perfume etc. have their prices set for those who can afford the $200 jean and $300 jacket and $100 fragrance and nobody is giving them "grief" for their outrageous pricing and then claim that they are catering to "all" women?I have been able to purchase jeans by Beyonce, Juicy, J Lo and others, they all fit the same. Nothing spectacular about any of them, except for finding the right fit for myself, being a very "curvy" (big butt) black woman with a small waistline. Most of the women I know can afford a pair of $14.00 blue jeans, at least once in their lifetime, and look like a million bucks b/c they now have a "labeled" peice of clothing.I am sure she is still getting paid but she is also helping someone less fortunate. Thanks, Sarah!!!!!!!
