Espresso machines are fascinating pieces of engineering powered by a simple formula: water + heat + ground beans = espresso. That having been said, the Nespresso "Fashion" Espresso maker adds a little something extra to the mix. As you can see from the photograph, the Fashion maker exterior is covered with hundreds of sparkling Swarvorski crystals. The limited-edition model sells for $1,000 and comes in two colors: black and pink.
Obviously, it's absurd to drop $1,000 on an espresso maker that doesn't make $1,000-quality coffee, but if a crystal espresso machine matches your kitchen's crystal-encrusted sub-zero, stand up mixer and toaster oven, I could see the appeal.
