In what can only be described as a rash, unprovoked, highly insensitive attack on followers of the fashion industry, designer Marc Jabobs has chosen REM's lead singer as the featured model in his fall ad campaign.

Maybe he's going for an older demographic -- seeing as most REM fans were in high school in the early '80s. Or maybe he's just so excited that band was finally, after a nearly 30-year career, inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

Whatever the reason, all sources indicate that this may very well be "the end of the world as we know it."
