Maybe he's going for an older demographic -- seeing as most REM fans were in high school in the early '80s. Or maybe he's just so excited that band was finally, after a nearly 30-year career, inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.
Whatever the reason, all sources indicate that this may very well be "the end of the world as we know it."
