Telecommuters work naked

The only way to workSure, it's easy to pick out an outfit for the office. Even if you're only marginally interested in fashion, chances are that you'll outshine the lackluster efforts of your mostly drab co-workers.

But what should you wear when your office ... is your couch?

For those of us who telecommute, or work from home, our standard getup for the daily grind is our favorite pair of pajamas. However, the latest trend amongst home-office types is nothing of the sort -- it's nothing at all, actually.

Naked. Nude. In the buff. That's how 1 in 8 men and 1 in 14 women like to work from home. The desire to bare all while bringing home the bacon is becoming so popular that one California-based clothing-optional resort reports that 80% of their guests aren't on vacation -- they just like to work without covering their bits and pieces.

So the next time you're chatting with your accountant, graphic designer, publicist -- or anyone else who might be free to work out of their house -- picture them naked. It's quite possible that they already are.

I am one of the 1 in 14. As a freelance graphic designer, I work most days in the buff and I'm very comfortable doing so. It saves on laundry as I usually use one outfit for the day instead of my usual two (one evening and one day) and it saves on cooling during the spring and summer. Sometimes in mid winter I dress because even with heat it can be chilly in the house. It's really easy to keep a robe handy to answer the door and take UPS deliveries etc.

I've found that dressing as I normally would, shaving, and the like keeps my work ethic up. No biz casual mind you, but pants and often even shoes.

But hey, to each their own.

I also like to work in the buff while doing my communications from home. Like Angie had stated, it saves on cooling and it just feels so good to be just me as comfortable as can be. Kevin

I'm 1 of the 8 and really enjoy getting out of bed and not having to put a stitch of clothing on. I live in the country and if I time my walk down the lane to pick up my paper properly, I can duck out onto the road naked to retrieve it and then duck back into the foliage lined driveway to enjoy the walk back up to the house au naturele. I'm able to not only work at home naked, but mow the lawn, clip the hedges (being extremely careful around the blackberry patch), and wash the vehicles, all while enjoying the hot sun and cool breezes on all parts of my body. My wife and daughters also enjoy the freedom that nudity provides and we spend lots of time in and around the pool enjoying nature's gifts. It's nice to know others share our feelings and values.

Cheers,
Claude

I'd rather work in my pj's or even in the nude anyway :) Office clothes are expensive! I like have 4 nice dress shirts I wear in the spring/summer and 4 nice dress shirts in the fall/winter. Then I have like 3 different pairs of khakis and 3 different pairs of black pants. Maybe I'd rather spend my money on other things than keeping up with fashion like books or music or my cell phone LOL.

hey clothes are something invented by those who need to feel secure...being naked is my assurance that being me is just great and not needing others to dress me is even greater...its a natural feeling whether at my computer or in bed....being naked is freedom...for those who feel nudity is dirty , you have a cramp in your brain and were abused as a kid

I think it's a sex fetish. No, I do not think nudity is necessarily sexual, but come on people. They make it a point to be nude while at their PC doing business with clients. I think it excites them.

LOL this is bull.. I worked from home for seven years and not once did it in the buff. The more 'dressed down' I was, the more it impacted my work. If I did my work in sweats - that's how I thought. If I cleaned up and prepared for my day - I felt more organized and performed better at work.

We were born naked, so why not be that way as often as you can. I do when the kids are at school. Makes for interesting lunches when "daddy" comes home for lunch.

I am an accountant and I work from home. I am naked most of the time while doing bookwork, some of the time while doing taxes for people too.

Some of my clients even want me naked while I work on their taxes too.

I'm definately with Angie, or would like to share an office with her lol. Cleaning bill is defanitely non-existant and besides it's the quality of your work and not how corporate you look that counts. If I could find a place in the country like monetsmoon it would be wonderful.

I work from home most of the time but I do it with my clothes on. There are way too many windows in my house to get away with that and Frankly, I dont see myselg being comfortable without ANY clothes on during my scheduled work time. On my laziest day...at least a long shirt. For me, naked time is showers or for intimacy....there is no place for it professionally
