I posted about the hideous new trend of open toed boots and your comments spoke for themselves ... they are disgusting and make you wonder why this new accessory, Posso the Spat, was ever created.

Marylouise Pels and Vanessa Giovacchini, the brains behind Posso the Spat, believes that men and women can liven up any pair of shoes by sporting this trend. The spat is bringing back a trend that was sported years and years ago by fashionable men (think Fred Astaire). The fellas would strap on a pair of spats and suddenly have a brand new look on their feet. Posso Spats are made of finely crafted Italian leather, you can add these spats to stilettos to instantly become a piece of high fashion. A pair of spats will cost you between $100 and $242 for pair, at that price I would rather buy a new pair of shoes.

Lindsay Lohan has already picked up a pair, though I wonder if even her influence can help make this mess a full fledged trend? I don't think there is anyone powerful enough to make this style stick.
