Croc "Spoof" Ads Even More Irritating Than Their Shoes

How does it make you feel every time you see someone who thinks they're "fun" or "funky" or "original" just 'cause they're wearing a pair of Crocs (like everyone else in their suburb)?

Irritated? Offended? Ashamed for humanity?

Whatever that sensation, multiply it by a thousand, and that's how you'll feel watching these "spoof" ads that the Croc people have launched on their Web site. The ads are supposed to imitate the popular Mac vs PC TV spots, in which the Mac guy is young and cool -- especially compared to the his nerdy, older PC counterpart.

However the Croc guy in these ads is not cool, but instead a grown man who insists on dressing like a teenage stoner and wearing children's shoes. Bleh.

I love Crocs!!

I wear them every day, at home or shopping and even at work. After years of wearing high heels and abusing my feet with "style" they are a welcome relief because they are the only shoes now that don't hurt my feet. I've gone for comfort over looks and really...... they aren't that bad!!!

Crocs are so dangerous. People wear them everyplace and they are made for gardening. My Mom slipped on a boat ramp this weekend and it was all because of those stupid ugly "shoes!" They are slippery. They catch on floors when you are wearing them.

People . . . they are made for gardening . . . wear them THERE . . . not everywhere!!

And they are so ugly!!

I wear crocs all the time and they are the only shoe that don't hurt my feet. I have heel spurs and spent a lot of money on shoes trying to find something that would not hurt my feet. I work standing all day. Yes they are ugly but to have no pain I can live without style. I love them!

I love them. I have bought several pairs so just in case they go out of style or the media keeps bashing them, I will still have mine. I am 60 years old and hope I can wear them forever!

Hi, very seldom do I comment on something but please please do not make fun of my "crocs"

They are ugly, but wonderful. If Julia Roberts can wear them for comfort, all of us can.

I love Crocs as well. I have had a lot of problems with my feet in the past and Crocs is a nice casual shoe that gives my feet a much needed break. I love the new sandals as I cannot wear flip flops or other sandals that do not have an arch support. All the Crocs shoes provide a gentle arch support and prevent fungus and other warm weather related problems. I have enjoyed, once again, running errands with my Crocs. Of course, I do have my Nikes for workouts and for long distance walking. And, of course, I do have dress shoes for appropriate dress up attire. Crocs are just my casual and comfort break for my poor doggies! Give them a break, or just give them a wear. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I love Crocs and don't care if the whole world hates them...I'll still wear them. My feet don't hurt! That's all that matters to me. I have to admit that I'm a brown and black only croc gal, but I still love them. I wear them all summer and all winter.

My husband works as a builder and wears them to work everyday...he no longer has to worry about athletes foot because his feet aren't cooped up in tight, hot work boots all day long. They are completely safe for all kinds of surfaces.

I've bought them for my 70 year old father who lives at the lake and now it is the only kind of shoe that he wears. He spends most of his day in the water or on his boat and has NEVER had a problem with slipping.

I didn't realize Crocs were "the latest thing" when I ordered them from a calendar after foot surgery. They are wonderfully comfortable. However, as a person who abhors fads, I am thinking I have to get rid of them. Um, no...they are too comfortable. Thank you very much Crocs!

It's awfully amusing that people think that they are for gardening, but some people feel the need to "create" reasons to complain about everything they don't like. They are slip-resistant, extremely lightweight, and are easily cleanable. They were designed to wear while BOATING. If you happen to fall (or jump) in the water, do not worry about losing them, they float!

My podiatrist recommended them and they are much less ugly than any orthopedic shoe I have ever seen. I have NO more foot or back pain, which is more than I can say about any other shoe I have worn. Highly recommended!

The first pair I ever saw were on my brother's feet. I asked him where he got those ugly shoes and his reply was "don't make fun of my shoes till you try on a pair". I now wear my Croc's every day. I don't care that they are considered ugly---and trust me---they're only ugly to the people who criticize them and have never tried on a pair. After years of standing long hours at work on a hard floor, suffering through hideous heel spurs and spending tons of money on shoes that didn't fit my high arched feet, Croc's are now my shoe of choice. The only regular shoes I own are my hiking boots and my walking shoes and one pair of flat heeled dress shoes. My Croc's are also my 'camp' shoes when I go backpacking. Nice and comfy after a long day's walk on the trail and a lot lighter than the tennies I used to carry. So, sneer if you want to at my Croc's but, I'm the one walking down the street with the smile on my face!

They ALMOST look as stupid as those of you who walk around with a blue tooth phone stuck to your ear talking in public because you want to look
important, but forgetting we can all hear how stupid your unimportant phone call really is. Our family physician also said that crocs are the worst shoe you can put a small child in for safety, and foot support at their age, so DONT FALL FOR A FAD.

Crocs are the only shoes I found I could wear after breaking my ankle and since then I have recommended them to scores of people with similar conditions from knee surgery to bad backs to my husbands recent hip replacement. They will never go out of 'style' as that is not all they are about. They are certainly not a fad. They are a necessary and life changing shoe and have helped lots of people become mobile again.

They're the ugliest shoes I have ever seen. I can see all these people that wear crocs and flip flops getting foot problems later on in life.

They are comfortable and as a nurse who walks all day, I also enjoy wearing them. However, the poster that states they catch on floors is right. I've almost fallen a couple of times because they've caught on the tile floor at work. As a result I've gone back to wearing my nursing shoes at work. I still wear my crocs at home and for quick runs to the store. They're great but be careful when walking because they will trip you up.

Crocs are sooo ugly!!! I cant understand how people can walk outside with them on their feet and half the time they wear the worst colors which stand out like a sore thumb! I just don't understand how people think they are 'cute' or 'fashionable'....
