Stylefoul: Beyonce's Balenciaga Lego heels

BalenciagaOuch. It looks like Beyonce has been raiding the shoe rack of Optimus Prime's trashy girlfriend. The singer was spotted at the American Music Awards sporting these $4,175 heels from Balenciaga, which Lauren mentioned earlier this year. Yeah, I said $4,175. I would rather eat that much in a green, cash salad than buy these monsters to put on my feet.

I must admit, this shoe has done a number on my imagination. If one ignores the pointy heel bit, the awkward straps kind of make the shoe look like one of those sandals that a lot of dads like to wear with socks. That's never a fun quality to have on a shoe for a night on the town, right? When I look at this, I also think of what hardcore Global GUTS fans would have made their mothers wear. It'd be like GUTS' equivalent of the soccer mom. My brain also starts conjuring up images of people on the corner of NYC's Canal and Broadway, trying to sell knock-off versions of this made of Legos and aluminum foil.

Sad thing is, I'm sure they'd make at least one sale. Yuck.

OMG are you kidding me balenciaga?! A famous house that has been around longer then most designers today? What is new, well designed avant gard a little too much for your obvious lack of uniqueness? My god if you pay any attention to the REAL FASHION WORLD you'd know that fall 2007 balenciaga made head lines their well tailored blazers, jodpurs and SHOES were on every IT girl's most wanted list. But i imagine you were to busy being conservative and spending all that money in department stores that are noramlly at least two seasons behind the times. Beyonce knows the fashion and is and was up to date unlike this lovely little writer who doesnt know a thing about style, fashion, creativity or goddamn couture. *little word of advice do you research there is more to the fashion world then what you see on the streets and what is in your sorry excuse of a wardrobe.*

I don't think they really meshed with her outfit.....but with the right oufit...these would be kinda cute. maybe some smart balenciaga rep gave them to her team...knowing they would get the press...because they couldn't have been making a profit on them prior to this coverage, right?

What? Are you serious?? Those shoes are sick! (That's a good thing in "slang":explanation needed because clearly you live in a box) Anyone with any sort of fashion sense (and no I don't mean you go to your nearest Joyce Leslie and cop the knock-off to what some famous designer created, I mean real fashion sense, as in from the thrift store to bergdorf's you get it done, will clearly see that this is innovation at it's best. With so much of fashion being repeated, how can we not stand up and applaud this amazing fashion house for doing what evereyone else is afraid to do. Meanwhile, while girls run to Saks to pick up the latest Gucci shoe that's being knocked off, knocked up and worn by people who have no clue about the company from it's induction with horse bits, I'd rather take my 4 g's and rock a shoe that morons aren't interested in.

I love these shoes, and not because Beyonce was wearing them. It's the uniqueness that makes me love these shoes. it took some creativity for this design. I'm ashamed to say this but, I'm waitin for the less expensive knockoffs.

Those shoes are ridiculously cool. They were a staple of fall 2007. Balenciaga was praised for their work on their fall 2007 collection and part of the praise was directed towards these heels. When i first saw them in Vogue, I too had to take a second look, but with socks, corky pants and a sharp blazer those shoes are fierce, not to mention innovative.

Why are you talking about these now? These shoes have been out for over a year, and i sincerely doubt Beyonce was the first to wear them. They are an "of the moment" shoe from Balenciagas collection, its now their fault a celebrity didnt wear them until their time had passed

I love them because they are different also. You would have to have the right outfit, colorful but not too wild because the shoe then fits in great-that is the wild part! I would wear them w/the right outfit-by the way, I am NOT young either(1 mo from 50). The shoes and purse make an outfit. You have to have STYLE.

One thing people do is hate on what they cant afford, obviously Beyonce is not hurting for money so who cares how much she spent on the shoes...it takes a Strong woman to be as beautiful as she is and wear something that Average people think are hideous. Maybe most of you hating should go look in your closet and see what you paid 25 dollars for that you put on your feet all the time and think "Damn I look good" when in reality you look like a cheap prostitute. I know one thing if I saw these on any woman I would give her the props she deserves and say "POWER TO YOU SISTER"!!!!Im Out

sadly, the worst part about this news isnt the shoe, but the writing. Was there really no way to integrate the three "how-ugly-are-these-shoes?" comments into a better article. Good jub editor.
