Unexpected drugstore blemish remedy

Neosporin First Aid Antibiotic Ointment
It doesn't matter how old or young you are, no one likes to get blemishes. Recently blemishes were practically attacking my skin and I had been actively seeking a skincare solution. I was able to find one miracle product; unfortunately that product seriously broke the bank. I needed something effective that I could afford.

Enter the most unlikely source of blemish relief, Neosporin. My best friend's aunt drunkenly slipped me a tube of the "white stuff" during a Christmas party and told me she 'just handed me the ultimate beauty secret.'

At the time I had no idea that her crazy secret just might work. A few days later I sprouted a nasty pimple on my chin and reached for my tube of "white stuff." I slathered the Neosporin on my chin and waited for a miracle. Two days later my blemish was history and with no scaring left behind.

Get this miracle in a tube at your local drugstore for less than $6.

I think I will really have to give this a shot and see how it works. I have a bad problem with acne and I would love to see how well it actually helps. If it works, I think I will be buying an overstock of Neosporin LOL

I always used neosporin on pimples!! It kills the bacteria so it helps heal your skin! I put it on as a spot treatment after I wash my face at night. Don't recommend for use during since it would be too noticeable, as if having vaseline on your face.

I know this sounds crazy..but the best, and very inxpensive treatment...when you feel a pimple start...or one just developed...put Windex on a cotton ball..and saturate the blemish spot...many of my firends and family thought I was crazy, until the tried it, and it works!!!!

No one should use an antibiotic regularly as a preventative. Antibiotics should only be used to cure existing infections (and even then, only infections they can be effective with - antibiotics are useless against viral infections like the flu, the common cold, and cold sores, for example). The more you use an antibiotic, the more bacteria become resistant to the antibiotic. Casual and unnecessary use of antibiotics leads to the evolution of "super" bugs that defy treatment and render antibiotics useless.

Neosporin is an antibiotic cream. It kills bacteria. Pimples are bacteria. Why didn't someone think of this before?

Neosporin works... But what I have found that works better is Tea Tree Oil. Even cheaper and more effective!

Neo for me was not good, even tho I didnt slather it all over, just on the pimple I broke out around it too- because it has a petroleum (or some thick greasy) base.

use the "original" creamy kind. been using it for years. stumbled onto it on accdent one time when i picked until it bled. put some nesporin on it and the whole thing was gone in 3 days. using on them as they start makes them go away even quicker!

I've been using this 'secret' for about 10+ years. I like to put on a small amount before bed then cover with a Band Aid spot (the little circle) size to keep it on all night. It helps the big nasty zits but also helps on those big red, hard "mountain" zits that won't come to a head and hurt. Sometimes it reduces the size & tenderness, other times it brings those to a head, then the next night makes them go away.

TK, did you use the cream or gel? Sounds like the gel. Try the cream.

I've been using Neosporin for awhile and it does work most of the time. No icky dry peeling to deal with either.

Cetaphyl cleanser with 1-2 drop of "Wild Mediterranean Oregano" ($20-50 per bottle) works too. For a few months, I watched the guy who swears by it. He works at the health food store where I bought it and his skin went from red & rashy to perfect. He uses it once per day in the morning shower. That's it. I just started using it last night. Be careful to use only a small amount mixed in with your gentle cleanser. It burns a little but you will see results almost immediately. I suggest you find a good mask you are comfortable with and use it every other night. Don't forget to moisturize because it is very drying. Put a couple of drops under your tongue at night for an effective internal treatment too. Drink lots of water and then go out and live your life while it works! Stay positive. I KNOW how depressing skin conditions can be.

Toothpaste can also burn the crap out of your skin. I wound up at the dermatologist's office with a pretty severe reaction to toothpaste (plain ol' paste, not gel) when I put it on two pimples and then went to bed. My skin sloughed off in those areas the next day (a thick layer of skin came right off on the washcloth) and left a raw, open wound. I would not recommend this treatment to anybody unless they talk to a doctor first.

Oral contraceptives are about the only method that I have found to help my skin stay clear.

Different things work for different people. Too bad there's not one inexpensive cure-all that works well for everybody!

be careful that you dont use whitening toothpastes. They can cause discoloration in your skin!
