Looks like it's back to the county lock-up for the famed Hollywood Madame. Heidi Fleiss built her infamous reputation around successfully mixing business and pleasure, but I thought she was to smart to mix driving, controlled substances, and prescription narcotics. Guess I was wrong. Police in Nye Country, Nevada responded to a call about a drunk driver Thursday afternoon and guess who was at the wheel. The officers proceeded to search the car -- don't know what kind of car, I'm picturing a blue '92 Honda Civic hatchback -- where they found Heidi's stash. When Ms. Fleiss couldn't produce evidence that the narcotics were prescribed, or a driver's license, or keep her eyes from rolling back in her head -- I made that last part up -- it was all over.
Heidi was charged with: driving without a license, possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription, under the influence of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. That's a mouthful.
This incident might throw a monkey wrench into her plans to open the world's first wind-powered brothel. I don't know how hard it is to get a prostitution permit in Nye County, but it seems to me that if you're going to run a shady business like a brothel, especially a brothel for women, it's probably best to keep on the good side of the law. Just in case.
