Your mother's "I don't want to go on a date with you" excuse is ruined. But that's okay, because your mother doesn't get asked out anymore.

"I'm washing my hair" is now passe. You can always wash your hair a couple days later. Or not at all!

Check out this NY Times article about people with dirty hair.

Me? I come from a long line of greasy women. Seriously. It's fine by me; it keeps all of our skin from aging, but not wash my hair? That's crazy talk.

I decided to give it a go, though. My mother gave me a bottle of powder shampoo she got talked into and didn't want from Aveda that has been staring at me from my cabinet for a long time. Um, how does one apply powder to hair? Well, people, I tried, and I still don't really know. There's a lot of powder in a lot of places now.

I guess the powder mopped up some grease, but it made my hair crunchy and weird. Actually, my hair feels dirty. Which it is. It's like my hair was greasy and then I put dirt in it.

I could try and get used to it, but I really want a shower. I think this ship's gonna have to sail on by me. Bon voyage dirty hair ship!
