We love international fashion weeks. There's nothing better than seeing crazy, amazing clothes from relatively unknown designers, models walking down runways in cities we've never been to, and checking out the outfits on famous people we've never heard of. Work from houses outside the typical big names in fashion is always interesting. This week, I present to you, Fresh Art, showing at Russian Fashion Week.




From the country that brought us Tatu and an MTV movie awards full of thousands of girl on girl kissing, we were expecting to see clothing that pushed sexual boundaries. And we did. One model walked down the runway in what could be considered a glorified pair of suspenders and panties, nothing more.

There was a lot of headgear, you know, like Mickey Mouse ears that go on your forehead, and the makeup was very theatrical. The models almost all had painted on face masks in gorgeous bright colors. The bright makeup with the dark clothes was a stunning contrast.

Again, just like with Lakme Indian Fashion Week, we noticed that the models were bigger than the standard size 0 we normally see in Milan, Paris and New York. They actually had, heaven forbid, boobs!
