As one of the most influential designers of our time, Miuccia Prada has seen many of her designs badly reinterpreted and/or knocked-off at budget-friendly stores like Express, Forever21, and H + M.And like any trend ripped straight from the runway, Prada's fall '07 stampede of ombré handbags and accessories are just now starting to see their influence in more affordable forms a year after they first debuted.
Gwen Stefani created this over-priced green patent leather ombre tote, Pencey incorporated the trend in a comfy tee, and NY favorites Alice & Olivia made their crotchet dress fade from a beautiful chocolate brown to a subdued ivory color.
With the exception of the handbag, all of the pieces are wearable and dare we say, kind of cute?
But when is it time to let go of a trend that is so stuck in 2007 it's not even funny. Ombré was dead until Madame Prada resurrected. What do you think?
