Donatella Versace won't do H&M line

5/14/2008 10:25AM by Kyle Hepp

So many major designers have done lines for H&M that Donatella Versace would be a seemingly logical choice to team up with the retailer. But, she won't be following in the steps of Stella McCartney, Viktor and Rolf or Roberto Cavalli.

Donatella has said that she will not be designing for the low price fashion giant. She was recently approached but turned the company down.

She stated, "I respect everyone who does it, but the reason I didn't do it is because I work very hard to put the Versace line in the luxury section. I think to put the Versace line in H&M would confuse the brand."

You know, that's respectable logic. Even though we wish it weren't, affordable Versace clothing will continue to be an oxymoron.
