Crocs now selling heels!

Celebs caught wearing crocs!

  • George W Bush
  • Brad Henke (who's starring in the new Star Trek!)
  • Mario Batali (TV chef)
  • Missy Pyle
  • Aza (former Miss Ukraine)

This is so incredibly wrong. We don't mean to offend anyone's fashion sensibilities, but we're pretty sure that the fact that Crocs now makes heels -- and that people are actually buying them -- is an event that means the apocalypse is close at hand.

The funniest thing about this is that in the Crocs heels description, they say, "Spices up any fashionista's wardrobe."

We're crying, "False advertising!" Any true fashionista would not be caught dead in Crocs, high heeled or not.

Think that's bad? Check out these Croc disasters!

(click thumbnails to view gallery)

Isn't the beauty of Crocs that they're so ugly one would only wear them for comfort and convenience? By adding a high heel into the mix, the brand is trying to convince you that they're actually stylish -- and that's just not true!

We have no problem with wearing Crocs for gardening, or in the privacy of your own house where no one will ever, ever see you. But to wear them as a fashion statement goes against all principles of the fashion world! Heels should never be made out of rubber -- or croslite™. Same difference, same, ewwww, reaction.

Cute little celebrity kids wear them, but that still doesn't make it ok! Gosh, grown-up celebs wear Crocs, too!

And to our delightful reader Alli, who sent this tip our way, we say, "No, just no!" You sound like an exceptionally smart and fashion forward young lady. We love you too much to ever let you wear high heeled Crocs!

The heels at Christian Dior looked like they came straight from the ballet, complete with boxy, point-shoe-inspired toe-caps, little bows, and ribbon-like straps in a muted palette ranging from black to mauve. Chanel went for an edgy take on the t-strap heel, adding chunky lucite heels to ombre ankle-strap shoes in jewel-tone shades.

The end of the world is nigh. Hope has finally been extinguished. I share your outrage and grief:

I have never owned a pair of crocs or the look-a-likes, but I have friends that love them for their comfort, the fact that getting them wet is OK and that they absorb shock from working on concrete floors. I think they are colourful & fun looking. And I think that the style of the heeled ones is nice & they are cute. They would look nice to wear to the pool, and a bit upscale from your rainbows~Oh, you guys probably hate those as well. I wish you people would not be so harsh in your judgments against what other people wear. Some of the clothes I see on here are absolutely ridiculous, but they have the right tag and are pricey so you run out & buy it.

I own a pair of the new Croc heels, actually two, and think they are wonderful. I have even had women ask me where I purchased them. I have such a hard time finding comfortable shoes, I am excited to have found not only a pair of comfortable heels, but a fashionable pair at that!!!

I love the idea of different croc styles. I have been unable to wear different types of shoes due to a latex allergy. Most crocs are latex free. For the first time in about 10 years I have been able to go into the store and buy shoes. You go crocs.

I have 2 pairs of the high heels. They are great. For those of us who like the look of heels but have feet that can't take the pain associated with standard heels. These are a great solution. To those who hate on the crocs, don't buy them they don't need your support they have millions of us who love them.

Sorry Kyle Hepp--but I love these. They certainly look more comfortable than my Manolo Blahniks. I've paid a lot for designer shoes that I wear to work. What am I paying for? A shoe that is uncomfortable, falls apart easily, and that gets ruined if I step in snow or rain or on gravel. These are great for jeans, casual wear etc. Go Crocs.

OKAY.....reality check here:

If you MUST judge anyone, how about looking at their actions instead of what they wear on their feet.

And remember:
There's so much good in the worst of us,
And so much bad in the best of us,
That it doesn't behoove any of us,
To talk about the rest of us!

AMEN?

Crocs have been making "heels" for a while (They are more like slides) They are colorful and very comfortable. I work at a college and a lot of the teachers wear them since they are on their feet all day.

I wear crocks anywhere, my husband who is an Attorney, wears his black crocks to court, the judge wears crocks. What do you critics have against being comfortable? I don't sweat like an anteater in summer, my shoes let air in, yours don't, your feet swell and stink all day long.

So lay off the crocs, they do no harm to our feet and since beauty is in the eye of th beholder, I think they are just beautiful.

WOW!! Kyle Hepp, I am so glad that you have come along and wrote a blog about how wrong it is for us to wear our crocs. i personally own a pair of crocs and love them. **GASP** So if crocs wants to make high heels then let them. Dont try to make anyone feel like crap because of what they wear. That is the problem with fashion. You judge just by what they wear, when maybe you have caught someone on an off day or maybe they dont have a lot of money to be a "high end fashionista" as you put it. But maybe that person having an off day or not a whole lot of money is a great person, but because you judged them or told them something is just wrong, you have missed out on a person who would have changed your life. Shame on you, I hope little girls are not reading your blog because you and the lemmings like you are the reason why little girls dress too provacative, and have such low self esteem.

I think that people should just leave other people alone. There are DEFINITELY things that should not be worn. For instance...a 300 lb woman in a shirt that shows off her navel. I am a heavy set woman myself...and I wouldnt be caught dead like that. But shoes? WHO CARES? They always say those who have confidence walks with their head up. So if you have confidence, why are you paying attention to other peoples shoes?
If you are fashion concious, then good for you! That means you take pride in what you look like and wish to be presentable at all times. And I think that is a great thing. So if you are fashion concious, pay attention to what YOU wear. If someone else is comfortable, leave them be. You DONT know what they went through that day. Maybe they dress like that 24/7. Or maybe they didnt feel well. Or maybe they work 7 days a week somewhere where they are forced to be in the most uncomfortable clothes EVER and FINALLY got a day off! So they want to be comfy for once. So the point is, its ok to be up on fashion and want to look good all the time. But that is only right for the person who wants it. Its not right for everyone else.

I think you people are sooo shallow. Some people love Crocs because they feel great on their feet and they're comfortable. To diss people for that is shallow and unfeeling! I happen to love Crocs, and I know people with a lot of class who wear them with pride! I love Crocs!
