This picture, taken at a Grammy after-party, shows the dashiki clad crooner looking as stylish as ever. Isaac Hayes might have been best known for his hit theme song to Shaft, but we say he was equally well known for his unique and influential sense of style. His bald head, sunglasses, and beard cut against the grain when most of his contemporaries were opting for afros.
Perhaps Isaac's greatest contribution to fasion -- aside from his grooming -- was his mastery of pulling off the dashiki look. Put a dashiki on most dudes and they look kinda laughable. Not only did Mr. Hayes wear dashikis long after they'd gone out of fashion, but he always managed to look like a bad mother -- (shut your mouth) in one.
