Ethical fashion is an approach to socially and environmentally sustainable design, sourcing and manufacture of clothing. The ranks of ethical fashion designers are growing exponentially, and the fashions are finally hot, sexy and wearable.

This is a long overdue positive change, and the Re:fashion Awards are a way to celebrate the designers, consumers and manufacturers who are taking the steps to make sustainable fashion appealing and available.

The fashion contest is open to contestants all over the world, with eleven prizes in three categories:

• Designers - The RE:Designer of the Year Awards celebrate outstanding design coupled with pioneering sustainable practices.
• Making a Difference - The Making a Difference Awards celebrate initiatives which have achieved real positive change in the fashion sector.
• Innovation - The Innovation Awards celebrate innovative initiatives and ideas with enormous potential to achieve positive change in the fashion industry.

The awards ceremony will be held in London on November 13, 2008, and the submission date for entries was just extended to August 22nd, so you still have time to enter. If you're a new or established ethical fashionista, this is a chance for you to show the world your stuff!
