Karen Walker backstage
Just after her S/S '09 women's wear catwalk, Karen Walker says her collection, titled, "The Believers," was about "creating our own commune." In terms of design, "It's about scale," she claims. So on the runway, we saw tall, straw hats (shown below), large pleats, and some volume. She also showed some prints like a mint leopard and floral paisley that were, again, scaled properly and very tasteful. Generally, Walker injected a rough, rocker spirit to an otherwise pretty and feminine look.
