(But wait, there's more! Click the photo to see which other sexed-up celebs might be addicted to doing the business)
We really hate to predict the demise of celebrities, especially ones that voluntarily check themselves into rehab without a court order. Even more so when it happens to be the star of a show that we were totally addicted to in middle school. Still, speaking of addiction, we have to gloat that we totally called this: David Duchovny's ads for Johnston & Murphy got pulled because having internet sex addicts represent your clothing and luggage brand is creepy. Sorry dude.
It's actually a real shame because the ads look great. The photos, snapped by Walter Chin, look sharp and compelling just like you'd expect for a Johnston & Murphy campaign. Duchovny looks super fashionable and alluring -- and that's the problem. After Duchovny's very public admission to a rehab institution for sex addiction/porn addiction or whatever it is, J&M realized that their great new ads might not be sending the signals that they want to send.
It sucks to have to kick a celebrity when they're down, but we imagine that he got to keep the money. That ought to help ease the pain. Best of luck to Dave in his quest to be sex-free, or whatever.
