Vivienne Westwood at Paris Fashion Week
Only Vivienne Westwood would come out wearing a headband with a statement against the very thing she's selling. The grand dame of fashion sported headwear that had the word "Branded," scrawled across her forehead during her show at Paris Fashion Week.
With any other designer the message would have felt hypocritical, but Vivienne somehow manages to both be the man and damn the man. Her crazy shows and clothes are anti-establishment enough that she can wear whatever the hell she wants. To top off the ensemble she wore a t-shirt that reads, "We need an estimated $30 billion per year to save the rain forest."
As for the actual garments, the show was typical Vivienne -- although the colors were bright pastels rather than loud, clashing patterns, layer up on layer of fabric and asymmetrical dresses. If you're a fan of the Westwood brand than this Spring '09 collection most likely did not disappoint!
