Don't call former Wham! front man and serial car sleeper George Michael a narcissist just because he's planning to shell out £1 million pounds to buy a gold and diamond encrusted statue of himself. Please! Philistine! It's art! Modern art! George Michael and his partner Kenny Goss are fine art connoisseurs, with an extensive collection of dramatic modern pieces, including a £50 million Damien Hirst diamond-studded skull. So the George Face Statue won't even be the nicest thing they have!

The artist, Laban Roomes, describes the George Michael statues (yes, there is more than one) as "very sparkly" and a "perfect Christmas present." We are both intrigued and scared by idea of being in a Secret Santa with this man.

Serious collecting aside, we're sure it doesn't hurt that the statue has George's face. He probably wouldn't pay that much for a gold and diamond Bono -- really, who would? And you can just forget finding a home for that tacky platinum Elton John piece!

George and Kenny are a couple of modern day Di Medicis, with plans for a big old contemporary art museum in...wait for it...Texas.

Hmmm. Now that George W. Bush isn't what you'd call busy, maybe he'll spend some time at their gallery! I'm sure they'd accept him as a part-time docent or even a ticket taker. Anything to keep him from rattling around the house, driving Laura crazy.

Maybe Laban Roomes can even do a gold and diamond statue of G. W.! Although, we have to admit, we'd prefer George Clooney. You know, if anyone is taking requests for the next George statue.
