We know. Right now, looking at holiday shopping catalogs, commercials, and mailers must seem like cruel and unusual punishment because, let's face it, we're all collectively broke. Sigh.However, not all of the conspicuous consuming will be bad for our wallet this season or, more specifically, our heart .
Macy's loves celebrities and television ads that feature their said favorite celebs hawking products inside of the department store. This holiday season, Jessica Simpson, Martha Stewart, Carlos Santana, Donald Trump, Tommy Hilfiger and Kenneth Cole will appear in the Macy's TV commercials which launched this past Sunday. Sure. Watching Miss Simpson act stupid for thirty seconds won't compel you to buy a sweater. But donating money to the Make A Wish foundation? Well, that will change your attitude.
Everyone who writes a letter to Santa at Macy's Believe Stations is subsequently donating $1 dollar to the Make A Wish foundation. In total, Macy's will donate up to $1 million to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
