Rihanna on the AMA Red Carpet - Sweet or Silly?

Rihanna has never had a problem taking chances with fashion, that's for sure. She definitely leans toward extremes -- she's either strapped into skintight patent leather and latex or in full, ruffled gowns. Her red carpet arrival look for this year's American Music Awards definitely falls into the latter (although, for her performance, she went the other way. Of course.).
The thing is, we're not so sure about this ensemble. It's kind of sweet and cute, with the white ruffles and short white gloves, and shoes are pretty bad ass, for certain. But, come on -- could she look any more pregnant? Maybe she wanted to make sure she'd be able to eat without a belly showing or something, but all we know is, if we had Rihanna's rocking bod, we would not be wearing a ruffled tent like this.
Revealing on the Red Carpet
This ladies and gentlemen, is what a superstar looks like: Beyonce wearing the heck out of a deceptively simple looking black turtleneck dress at the Gotham Magazine gala. She's gorgeous!
This is what people are talking about when they praise Beyonce's curves. She looks like a fantasy creation, and even though she is as covered up as possible -- what kind of shoes is she even wearing? No one knows! -- nothing is left to the imagination.
And this is how you put together an outfit for an event. Her hair: striking -- pulled back, out of the way, not fighting with the dress. The only jewelry: bold but simple earrings. She's not even wearing her 18 carat engagement ring, just some shiny red nail polish.
She is, however, wearing 10 pounds of "You're damn right I'm fabulous" attitude, which is what really puts this in the StyleFab history books for us. Sasha Fierce rulz!

Of course, Beyonce isn't the only celeb who goes revealing on the red carpet. The question is: Who pulls it off, and who's revealing too much?
Rose McGowan's barely-there "dress" is a little (OK a lot) too much.

Keira Knightley's tattered rags look like a stiff breeze could make the actress considerably less decent.

Someone should've told Gwyneth Paltrow that you can see right through that dress -- and we'd prefer not to.

That's an interesting place for see-through fabric -- fortunately Teri Hatcher can make anything look amazing.

Backs are sexy, butt cracks are not -- even when it's Heidi Klum's.

Tess Smith leaves very little to the imagination with this super-skimpy wrap-dress-thing.

Anne Hathaway appears to have forgotten something -- it's called a bra.

Kate Bosworth uses some strategically-placed stripes to conceal her private parts.

Uma Thurman also seems to have forgotten her undergarments.

| Is she smuggling a turkey under that thing? Hate it! | |
| I just wish she'd stick to skintight leather. |

Sweet! I loved the ruffles and the look altogether. I get what you mean about the pregnant look but she doesn't have to show off her bod to be hot, you know? What I didn't like however was how uncomfortable she appeared to be in the dress. When she went up for her first award she was tugging at the back of the dress - I guess she was afraid of it flying up as she ran up the stairs of the stage. She also appeared to be a bit uncomfortable with those killer heels. She looked fab but also like she needed a dress rehearsal. Meanwhile - Jordin Sparks was so LOVELY in her sunny yellow number!
