Divine Design: Discount Shopping for a Great Cause

The rock-bottom economy has caused an influx of designer sample sales. But with so many options and so little time, might we suggest Divine Design: a shopping extravaganza (and no, we don't use the word lightly) that benefits Project Angel Food.
In fact, 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale will benefit the non-profit, which prepares and delivers meals to people with HIV/AIDS and other terminal diseases throughout the Los Angeles area.
Brands as diverse as Theory, Vivre, J Brand, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Nanette Lepore will be for sale and auction, at prices up to 80 percent off. (The complete list of designers -- which is truly staggering -- is available here.)
The VIP portion of the event began today, but it opens for the general public beginning tomorrow. The sale runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., through December 8, at 9900 Wilshire in Beverly Hills.
We see this as the perfect opportunity to start tackling our gift-giving list while giving something back. Admission is $25, or $10 with a printable coupon from the Divine Design site. But considering that every $5 buys a meal for a person in need, you may be tempted to skip the discount altogether.
