We love the vintage silk scarf dresses and tunics by L.A. designer Candice Held. We recently caught up with the designer, whose clients include Beyonce Knowles, Paris Hilton, Tyra Banks, Vanessa Williams, and Maria Sharapova, to find out more about her work.
What inspires your work? Nature, the female body, retro style, Art Nouveau, vintage fabrications and prints, movies, music, and dance.
Who are your favorite designers? Diane Von Furstenberg, Anna Sui, and Coco Chanel.
What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? Vintage boots, Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom, and mascara.
Any advice you would give to aspiring designers? Intern with other designers to learn the ropes, stay true to your own aesthetic, become a business person, and be prepared for lean times. There are great books out there for aspiring designers.
