When It Comes To Skin, Soap and Water Works Just As Well - StyleLies
If you're anything like us, you get tired of your daily skincare routine. A bottle of this for zits, that bottle for dryness and this one right here for anti-aging. You're just following what you read, but when is enough enough?
So is a simpler routine better? Well, no, you don't have to go the soap and water route, but yes, getting back to basics is a good idea.
Acne.org suggests simply splashing the face with water in the AM, oh-so-lightly dabbing on benzyl peroxide on affected areas only (for those of us that are acne prone), and following up with a very light weight, botanical based moisturizer. In the PM, rub cleanser in your palms to soap up, just barely smooth it over skin, rinse, and again apply your lightweight moisturizer or an essential oil like coconut.
Still don't believe us? Maybe you'll listen to Nicole Richie. On numerous occasions, the starlet has said her skincare routine consists of water, a gentle cleansing bar, and Mario Badescu's Control Cream. And the Control Cream has only five simple ingredients, one of which is carnation oil.
We know it sounds counter-intuitive and, we admit, it is very difficult to let go of all of the retinol raving and anti-aging hubbub, but you'd be surprised at how radiant and healthy your skin will look after only a few days of this routine change. After all, our skin is an organ that can balance itself with very little help from you.

I've always wondered how Nicole Richie keeps her skin looking flawless. I suffer from acne from time to time and I'm always looking for products to take care of this and that. Seems like a simpler routine is a better medicine to maintain the health and beauty of my skin.
