Michelle Obama Brow Scandal

Did Michelle Obama suffer from a case of not-so golden arches?

The perfectly arched eyebrows you see at today's Inauguration stand in stark contrast to the brows she sported earlier in the presidential campaign.

Michelle's eyebrows began making news late last summer - for their overly-arched shape that gave her a severe, angry look. "I will take the compliment or the blame for it," said Michelle's makeup artist Ingrid Grimes-Myles in an interview with The Chicago Tribune.

"When she started getting that feedback-I have a rule: When three or more people give you feedback, that means hundreds are talking about it-then what I began to do is bring them down and train them down," Grimes-Myles said.

She emphasizes there was no all-out panic. "As an artist I was surprised. ... And then I took my ego out of it and decided, oh, OK, to most people that would seem a little high. And Michelle ... likes herself. She is a very secure woman. It wasn't like, 'Oh, my God, people are saying my eyebrows are too sharp and too high!' It was something that we moved through very calmly."

Obama's brows today are thinner and more filled in with a lighter brow pencil than they were this summer. The arch does not seem to be any less prominent, but since the inner brows are thinner than before, the arch appears less severe.

Mrs. Obama it has been said "has her own style". The question is, does Mrs. Obama know what season she is in? As the First Lady of the United States Mrs. Obama clearly is in need of a person to select the proper clothing for her to save face for not only her husband but the country as well. If her choices yesterday were not bad enough the three quarter black and white "print" number she wore to the National Prayer Meeting this morning made her stick out like a sore thumb in the church. The First Lady might also attempt to stand in front of the mirror and practice smiling for more than 20 seconds at a time. She is clearly no Jackie O or Laura Bush as she lacks any real style or sincere grace.

There is simply no comparision between Laura Bush and Michelle Obama. Mrs. Bush came across as an automaton with a too tightly pulled face lift. In eight very LONG years, few paid the least bit of attention to what she said, did or wore. In fact, I don't remember anything about her except her forced smile. Though somewhat accomplished, Mrs. Onassis was to the manner born, with ALL of the advantages that implies. Yes, perhaps she swanned about a bit more gracefully than Mrs. Obama, but so what? Mrs. Obama is a woman of her time - not an appendage hanging from her husband's elbow or a very rich, Valentino clad socialite with a "career." She is a lovely, charismatic, self-made woman with a warm, effusive (yes I've met her) personality. Like her husband, she has hit the ground running.

I can't wait to watch MO grow into her role as first lady.

C-H-A-N-G-E. Get used to it.

"What season she's in"??? Who cares? She's the wife of the president, not a supermodel. You are either Republican, extremely shallow, or both(which is my guess).

I like what Mrs. Obama wears..not all the time though. For example, the yellow dress during the Inauguration was HORRIBLE..very aged and made her look huge (but it was freezing, and maybe she felt the need to be dressed similar to all the old hags that have been in the White House) LOL. Although, I LOVED the white dress with the flowers embroidered and the strap across her shoulder... I thought that looked very beautiful and really showed her figure, while still being elegant. Now, as for her eyebrows..who the hell cares!!! As long as they don't look like poo or are tattooed on, then there okay! LOL. And as for anything else like some previous wrinkles..its called STRESS people! I can't imagine how stressful it must be for Obama to be president at this difficult point in time..and guess who's there to stay up late with him, keep him motivated, make sure that he (as well as two young children) are happy and on track to their goals...MRS. OBAMA!

Michelle is doing just fine--not because her eyebrows are arched this way or that, but because she is one heck of a woman. There is nothing about her that smacks of role-playing. She is a real-world woman--a well-educated, intelligent, articulate woman. She is wife, friend, and confidante to her husband. She is seemingly 100% comfortable in her skin. She is a dedicated mother who represents that role with grace and purpose. She is a wonderfully balanced first-lady--and a real lady to boot.

I agree with thompson. Who cares how her eyebrows look? Even if she was butt-ugly, which she definately isn't, she's still a great woman so it doesn't matter.

Speaking of First Lady Michelle Obama:

Michelle Obama is a racial-minority individual, and in her heart and mind she inevitably does not endorse hate crimes committed by George W. Bush.

George W. Bush committed hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism (indicated in my blog).

George W. Bush did in fact commit innumerable hate crimes.

And I do solemnly swear by Almighty God that George W. Bush committed other hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism which I am not at liberty to mention.

Many people know what Bush did.

And many people will know what Bush did—even to the end of the world.

Bush was absolute evil.

Bush is now like a fugitive from justice.

Bush is a psychological prisoner.

Bush has a lot to worry about.

Bush can technically be prosecuted for hate crimes at any time.

In any case, Bush will go down in history in infamy.

I am not sure where I had read it before, but anyway, it is a linguistically excellent statement, and it goes kind of like this: “If only it were possible to ban invention that bottled up memories so they never got stale and faded.” Oh wait—off the top of my head—I think the quotation came from my Lower Merion High School yearbook.
