We Declare It "Statement Bracelet" Time!

BraceletThere's all this talk about statement necklaces and big, crazy '80s earrings. But what about bracelets? When do they get their time to shine? How about right now! Jeweler Nicole Vazquez makes some of the most gorgeous bracelets we've ever laid eyes on.

Although she makes pretty necklaces and earrings, it's Nicole's bracelets that we're hooked on. We recently picked up her Moorea bracelet and haven't put it down since! The pieces are simple enough to work every day but bold enough to add some pizazz to the new summer staple, the Little White Dress. Be sure to check out her turquoise pieces, too, since the hue is dead on trend for spring/summer 2009.

This Moorea bracelet is not all that. I like it (maybe because it looks like something from Tiffany's) and would wear it if someone gave it to me as a gift, but to spend $180 on this bracelet..or even $90, is too much. Its true that bracelets never really get their "time to shine", but their are a few out there that are very beautiful and worth the $180 or $200. But I think bracelets are just simple accessories, where as a Watch (Rolex, Movado, etc.) are a much louder statement and can be worn everyday! If your willing to spend money on a pretty bracelet, then I say make sure you get something thats really worth it! Especially during this difficult economic time, because remember, people are being let go from their jobs everyday...and yours could be next!

I felt I had to comment on the previous remarks left by "8683920". I am a customer of Nicole Vazquez Jewelry and even though I do not own the Moorea Bracelet I own 4 of her other bracelet designs and was confused by the comments that the bracelet "is not all that". Unfortunately photography doesn't do justice to her pieces, they need to be seen and worn to appreciate their full beauty. I buy these pieces because of their quality and the fact that the designer sources high quality and unique beads. If I wanted to spend considerably less than this then I would just go to a store like H&M and buy any old mass produced bracelet that a thousand other people will be wearing. The 4 bracelets that I own (the Helene, the Tahiti, the Michelle and the Inspiration bracelet) are beautifully crafted and unique pieces that never fail to get a comment when I wear them. These pieces are great design originals, they are items to keep forever and I am so glad to have discovered this designer. Designers like this are a rarity in todays world of mass produced throw away fashion.

I do own the Moorea bracelet and love it - it is worth every penny. Although not everyone would make the distinction, the Vazquez Moorea bracelet is made of very original pieces and not your average, generic plastic beads that can be purchased anywhere in a suburban mall. The bracelet's style speaks to extremely fashion-conscious people looking for versatility, which makes the bracelet itself quite a good bargain for someone who knows how to wear it. The same bracelet at Tiffany's would run $750 or better. Many, many of my friends in NYC have commented on the piece. Of course, these are tough times, but I think such times require support of small, new businesses, particularly when they offer amazing individual style at reasonable prices. If you want a cheap "Rolex," go to Chinatown.

Power Balance bracelet is based on the idea of optimizing the body's natural energy flow, similar to concepts behind many Eastern philosophies.

what is so special about a Power Balance Bracelet, and why are so many people wearing them? Do Power Balance bracelets really improve balance, power and strength?

Power Balance bracelet is a new technology that aids performance by using holograms embedded with frequencies that react positively with your body's energy to improve balance and strength.
