For a while now, rumors have been swirling on the internet that Belgium-born wunderkind Oliver Theyskens was on his way out the door at Nina Ricci, reportedly over creative differences. Well, it appears that there may have been more truth than was previous thought to the claims.
Grazia reports -- so take the following with a smidge of salt -- Nina Ricci was forced to get rid of Olivier because of the slagging and otherwise disappointing sales from his last ready-to-wear collection. Still, it's hard for us to believe the company would be firing Theyskens anytime soon, considering he just announced plans last week to create an extensive accessories line for the label.
Regardless, this a great little rumor to kick off the next season of Fasion Week, no?
