The Spa at Encore
Fashion doesn't exist without wellness: Inner contentment manifests physically, which makes us look better regardless of wardrobe while reducing signs of aging. We don't make this stuff up. It's totally from actual facts, according to most of the leading scientist friends we hang with.
The meditative aesthetic of Buddhism and elemental mentality of Feng Shui inspired the spa at Steve Wynn's Encore. Designed by Todd-Avery Lenahan of ABA, the layout of 51 treatments rooms shown above, includes 14 double occupancy suites. It's only part of the 61,000 sq. ft. facility with studios for spinning, yoga, pilates, conditioning or meditation plus a gym and full salon with products from Shu Uemura and Ahava.
The signature treatment is an 80-minute Good Luck Ritual Massage, representing the five elements of Feng Shui -- health, wealth, prosperity, happiness and harmony. It's a general body massage with exfoliating products applied on the extremeties and additional scalp treatment. In addition to the messages (shiatsu, stone, pregnancy or couples), there are also facials, targeted eye treatments, tanning, treatments inspired by traditional Buddhist bath rituals, body scrubs and much more.
Parallel spas for men and women both offer the same amenities like multi-head waterfall showers, eucalyptus sauna, tech savvy lockers with personal punch codes and more. Both facilities lead into meditative rooms to liaison with the treatment therapist, then into the temple-esque hall shown above. The aesthetic on display in terms of scale, taste and experience makes this sight line one of the design highlights at Encore.
The facility is steller and the menu, comprehensive but not overly complicated. It reflects the type of streamlined presentation and attention to scale that makes Encore a specific type of resort experience.
