Upon arriving home from a sunny vacation, you can't help but notice how inflammation free your radiant, glowing skin is. So what do you next? Run for the tanning booth to keep it up, right?

Wrong! Although it has been proven a certain "wavelength of light has been shown to stimulate porphyrin, a chemical that eradicates the bacteria that causes acne," the side effects may make your acne and skin worse in the long haul.
Why? Well for numerous reasons:

1. When your skin is dry, your body's response is to product more oil.

2. Too much sun exposure can lead to premature aging and skin cancer.

Although some studies are now showing that about 10 to 20 minutes of SPF free sun exposure several times a week is actually very beneficial too skin (read February's Vogue for more on this!), too much of a good thing is never, well, good.
