MAKEUP: Lisa Butler for MAC
HAIR: Ward Stergerhock for Living Proof
BEAUTY SNAPSHOT: Rock 'n roll chic
THE SCOOP: Inspired by the rocker theme of the collection, Lisa Butler created a look that's all about purple eyes. "It's a bit rock, but it's colorful," said Butler. "It's not black or gray or too greasy. It's a younger version of that rock chic sort of look. We're trying to make it not get disco which is hard with purple because purple can look like 70s disco. Which is why it's not structured."
Butler lined eyes with a chunky black pencil and pressed a violet powder into it to add softness. A purple pigment was shaded in underneath, while Young Pink (a brand new shadow) was used in the socket area "very loosely and feathered out."
Continuing with the rocker chic theme, Ward Stegerhock styled hair "wild, textured, and unkempt." The models' hair was saturated in Living Proof's NO FRIZZ styling creams (which made its debut backstage at Miss Sixty) to add extreme body. But Stergerhock thought it was key to have a "girly element going on to keep it from going punk." To add a feminine touch and break up the normalcy, he tied a knot to the side with chunks of hair coming out.
